JET Adventures 22 - School festival
Tuesday, October 04, 2005

The weekend was all about the school's festival. The school has one big event a year, last year it was the sports festival, next year will be the stage festival, but this year was the big cultural festival where pretty much anything goes. Every classroom was transformed with a theme, the stage had a million different dance, musical and comedy acts. Outside was the food bazaar, the marching band and Eisa dancers on the school grounds. The best inside event was the ghost house where the students scared us all shitless by doing their best impressions of Resident Evil and Ring.

My quest for discovering people and animals wearing animal skins continued.

These are some of the Eisa dancers. The teachers tried to make me do this, but they would only let me do the rubbish dancing that the girls do and wouldn't let me have a big drum so I refused. They got their revenge by dragging me into the middle of the Eisa near the end and making me dance the "freestyle" animal dance before trying to throw me in the air.

This is the girl's equivalent of Kendo, they have to try to hit each other on the head with big hockey sticks. Actually, it looks like quite good fun, I think I might try to gatecrash their next practice session.
